Jacob's Gun

In celebration of the Supreme Court's ruling that we can keep having guns, I built my son his very first rubber band gun. The rubber bands were quickly broken as the gun has nice power and we ran out of rubber bands, but we'll take care of that problem soon enough.   Here's to America and our bare arms.

Biffy's Fault

A week ago we were in Houghton, Michigan in the UP. We toured the Quincy Mine, which used to be dug to get copper. They give tours of part of the actual mine.   While we were in the mine, our guide pointed out a line of mud running through the rock and told us this was the Hancock Fault Line. Cool. Here is a picture of Elizabeth touching a fault line. How many times have you touched a fault line?   Just so you know, this is called the "Hancock Fault Line" because it is not Elizabeth's. It's never Elizabeth's fault.   Although the mine tour was very good, it did have one major fault.   This mine is unlike Elizabeth in that she has no faults.   Thank you. That is all.

Happy Birthday?

Today is Jeff's 34th Birthday. No big deal, one more day, eh.   It appears to be a bad day for some of God's creation, however. Two Downy Woodpeckers have hit our patio door and died today. We have never had any other birds die due to our windows, but today there are two.   Perhaps this is not a good omen for the next year of Jeff's life. But fortunately, Jeff is not superstitious (he's just a little stitious) and just wonders why two birds die on the same day for the same reason.   Cindy used to have a garden, but none of the vegetables grew, they all died. So Cindy found a new hobby: growing flowers. But they all died. So Cindy found a new hobby: feeding birds. Hmm. Let's just hope none of us are the center of Cindy's next hobby.
