Swimming in our Lake

At the beginning of the summer, Dad made a list of 25 things the kids could do and if they did all 25 Dad would give them $50. This was an ingenius attempt to prevent boredom. Right.   One of the itmes was to go swim in our lake. Oh, no problem. Anyone can swim in a lake.   Well, our lake is mucky and filled with weeds. Hehehe. But, all three of the little charmers went into the lake, past the weeds, even put their heads under.   A great time was had by all.

Wipeout!

Last summer the Weddle children were captivated by the new show American Gladiators. They have lost out some of their enthusiasm for the show now that they don't show all the events and include more talking. Also, the new show Wipeout! is just way too awesome.   Every day they beg to play Wipeout. This morning we did the punching wall, a balance course featuring a dad throwing pillows at them and our own version of big balls where contestants try to bounce across large rubber balls to another platform. Hilarity ensues.   Since we don't have any large inflatable balls, we used couch cushions. The object was jump from the recliner on to the stack of couch cushions and land on the other couch. Oh the hilarity. Jacob was the winner, doing it three times to zero times for both his sisters. Only one injury and in the overall scope of eternity it was quite minor.   Oh yeah, dad tried it once too. Not a good idea.

Rock Star Tooty

Jacob has a term he uses when he is excited or thinks he is the man. He will yell out "Rock star tooty." No one has any idea why. This morning Jacob announced he was going to sing like a rock star and sure enough loud yelling and guitar strumming ensued.   So precious and yet so loud.

Free Entertainment

It's that time of year again. Time to wash the car? Nope. Time to mow the lawn? Nope, just did that two weeks ago. Time to do Spring cleaning? Nope, not for another month and then only for a day.

It's time for the Weddle's to get free entertainment! The Hodag Country Music Festival is ramping up a half mile from our front door and we are all looking forward to our annual dosage of country music wafting through the air until 3 in the morning for four days in a row. It's a great time.

I think I feel my neck turning red.

Finally!

The ski show finally showed up, about six minutes late, I know because I was asked. After the agony of waiting, the Min-Aqua-Bats didn't let us down. A great show, the most jumping we've ever seen at one show. Cool.   The evening was then capped off with fireworks over the blue water-tower. We got home around 11:30, making it a very long but fun day. Can't wait until next 4th!

Jacob's Show

Traditionally the Weddle family really enjoys the 4th of July. This year was no exception. Each kid has their favorite part of the day. Jacob's favorite part was going to the Min-Aqua-Bats water ski show. He arrived early to save awesome seats with his dad.   Every minute for the two hours before the show Jacob asked his dad when the show would start. If you don't believe this, there are witnesses who will verify. Jacob was very geared up for it. Here is a brief moment where Jacob's dad managed to escape for a second and took this charming picture of Jacob waiting for the water ski boats to come around the bend in the lake a mere hour and a half before the show.

Biffy's Day

Since Belinda got to go to the Japanese tea that served no tea, Biffy got to go to a cool place too, which also, coincidentally, had no tea.   It did have tees however. Biff and her dad played 18 holes of mini-golf. Biffy completed her 18 holes in a mere 84 strokes, except for hole 16 where she incredulously arrived at a total of "6" after hitting the ball for approximately 13 minutes. Dad shot a 48 to barely squeak out the win. Then Biff and her dad went on the go-carts and didn't run into anything and had fun.   A nice time was had by all. With no tea.

Belinda's Tea

On Tuesday Belinda went to a Japanese tea at the local library, which isn't Japanese at all. But they dressed up the room all Japanesey and had a Japanese lady run it. She sat on the floor in the traditional way and ate chicken salad, fruit and vegetables and a fortune cookie.   However, much to her father's wonderment, Belinda did not drink any tea. Apparently Japanese teas only serve lemonade these days. Who knew?
